Maintenance
Care guides and maintenance tips to keep your Simpatico running perfectly.
10-Year Warranty
Every Simpatico frame is backed by a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects. We stand behind our work because we know titanium lasts.
The warranty covers weld failures, tube defects, alignment issues, and any fault in materials or workmanship. It does not cover crash damage, misuse, or normal wear.
We also offer a crash replacement program—if your frame is damaged in an accident, contact us for a significant discount on a replacement.
10-Year Coverage

Crash Replacement
Discounted replacement if damaged
Repairable
Titanium can be welded and repaired
Care Guide
Frame Maintenance
Titanium is remarkably low-maintenance, but a little care keeps your bike looking and performing its best.
Regular Cleaning
After every ride: Wipe down the frame with a damp cloth to remove road grime, dust, and sweat. Pay attention to the bottom bracket area, headset, and anywhere cables enter the frame.
Deep clean (monthly): Use mild soapy water and a soft brush. Avoid pressure washers as they can force water into bearings. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
Raw Titanium Finish
If you have a raw titanium frame, it requires almost no special care. The natural oxide layer protects the surface. Over time, it may develop a subtle patina—this is normal and many riders consider it part of titanium's charm.
For a fresh appearance, polish occasionally with a dedicated titanium polish or mild metal polish. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Cerakote Finish
Cerakote is extremely durable but still benefits from care. Clean with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh solvents or abrasive materials. The ceramic coating is harder than paint and won't chip under normal use.
Bolts and Fasteners
Torque specs: Use the values below as the Simpatico source of truth for frame-related fasteners. For other parts, always confirm the maximum torque from the relevant component manufacturer.
| Component | Torque (Nm) | Thread Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Top Cap | 2-3 | Grease / anti-seize |
| Stem Bolts | 5.5 | Grease / anti-seize |
| Cassette Lockring | 40 | Grease |
| Centre Lock Rotor Lockring | 40 | Grease |
| BB Cups T47 | 35-50 | Grease / anti-seize on threads |
| Shimano Crank Preload Nut (Plastic) | 1-2 | Grease |
| Shimano Crank Spindle Pinch Bolts | 12-14 | Grease |
| SRAM DUB Crank Bolt | 54 | Grease |
| Front Derailleur Clamp Bolt | 4 | Grease |
| Front Derailleur Fixing Bolt | 5 | Grease |
| Bottle Cage / Mounting Bolts on Frame | 2-3 | Anti-seize |
| Seat Post Clamp | Alloy / titanium post: 5 | Carbon post: 4 | Alloy / titanium assembly grease; carbon assembly paste for carbon posts |
| Thru-Axle | 8-10 | Grease |
| Disc Brake Caliper Fixing Bolt | 5-6 | Light-strength Loctite on thread |
- We strongly recommend having your Simpatico bike assembled by a qualified bicycle mechanic.
- For torque specs involving other parts, always verify the maximum torque spec from the relevant parts manufacturer manual.
- Never exceed the recommended maximum torque spec and always use a calibrated torque wrench.
- All bolts should have the appropriate thread treatment before assembly.
Anti-seize: Apply only a thin smear across the threaded area. This helps prevent galling and seizing in titanium assemblies.
- Anti-seize will be your friend. Apply only a thin smear across the threaded area.
- Using anti-seize on stainless steel bolts in titanium frames helps ensure smooth assembly, disassembly, and maintenance while preventing galling and seizing.
- If anti-seize is not available, use an appropriate bicycle assembly grease.
Annual Service
Once a year (or every 5,000km), we recommend a thorough service that includes:
- Remove and inspect headset bearings
- Remove and re-grease seatpost
- Inspect bottom bracket
- Check all bolts for proper torque
- Inspect frame for any damage or wear
Any competent bike shop can perform this service. The frame uses standard components that don't require special tools or training.
